The law enforcement officers once again appeal to the citizens – be as attentive and careful as possible while on the railway tracks, cross them only at designated places, making sure that there is no train. Remember that the railway is a high-danger zone.
The road traffic incident occurred on December 31, around 11:45 p.m., near the Obroshino station at the 8th picket near the village of Basivka, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, an electric freight locomotive on the Lviv-Lavochne railway line ran over a 25-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Sambir district.
As a result of the incident, the man received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 276 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of two to seven years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
