The law enforcement officers once again appeal to the citizens – be as attentive and careful as possible while on the railway tracks, cross them only at designated places, making sure that there is no train. Remember that the railway is a high-danger zone.
The traffic incident occurred on December 19, around 9:10 p.m., at the 9th picket of the “Glynna Navaria-Obroshino” railway race in the city of Pustomyty, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the Uzhgorod 2-Lviv train ran over an unknown man aged 25-35 years who was crossing the tracks at an unspecified place.
The man died at the scene from his injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 3 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the event and the identity of the deceased.
