Around midnight on February 2, police received a report of an explosion at a hotel on Horodotska Street in Lviv. The blast caused damage to the windows and doors of the establishment, and one hotel guest sustained injuries.
A rapid response team, including investigators, bomb technicians, and officers from Lviv District Police Department No. 1, arrived at the scene.
Preliminary findings revealed that a 44-year-old Lviv resident, while on the third floor of the hotel, detonated an unidentified explosive device. The man sustained injuries from the explosion and was hospitalized.
A criminal investigation has been launched under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement working to determine the circumstances of the explosion and the origin of the explosive device.
