Attention! Investigation of an accident in Lviv region – law enforcement officers ask witnesses to come forward
Anyone who has information that will help identify the driver responsible for hitting a pedestrian, which occurred on 3 March at about 21.00 near the village of Verbytsia, Stryi district, is asked to call 102.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, an unknown driver, driving an unidentified car, hit a pedestrian, a 19-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The man was injured and taken to hospital as a result of the collision. The driver fled the scene of the accident.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Stryi District Police Department opened a criminal investigation into the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcers are taking measures to find the car involved in the hit-and-run and identify the fugitive driver.
