The traffic accident happened on January 16 at around 10:00 a.m. in the village of Zabuzhya, Chervonograd district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the VAZ-21113 car, a 64-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, ran into a cyclist, an 82-year-old resident of a neighboring village. As a result of the collision, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of police department No. 2 of the Chervonograd district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
