In Horodok, the police found and seized a grenade from a passerby

On August 29, around 4:30 p.m., a police district officer of Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2, while patrolling the territory, found a man behaving suspiciously on Ivan Franko Street in the city of Horodok. During a cursory inspection, an object similar to a grenade and a bag containing a narcotic substance similar to “cannabis” were found in the man’s pocket.

An investigative-operational group of the territorial division of the police and specialists-explosive technicians of the police of Lviv Oblast were called to the scene. The law enforcement officers established the identity of the intruder, a 35-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, and also discovered and seized from him the body of an RGD-5 grenade, the UZRGM-2 fuse for it, and a polymer bag with a crushed substance of green vegetable origin.

All removed directed non-expert research.
The issue of notifying the perpetrator of suspicion of criminal offenses provided for in part 1 of article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) and part 1 is being resolved. Article 309 (Illegal production, manufacturing, acquisition, storage, transportation or forwarding of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of up to seven years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
