The traffic accident occurred on September 6 at 3:25 p.m. on the Ternopil-Lviv highway in the city of Zhovkva, Lviv district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Škoda car, an 82-year-old local resident, collided with a Peugeot truck driven by a 44-year-old resident of Zakarpattia region.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the car was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
