The traffic accident occurred on September 7 at 3 p.m. on the Ternopil-Lviv-Rava-Ruska highway in the city of Rava-Ruska, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the cyclist, a 64-year-old local resident, collided with an Audi A6 car driven by a 28-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district.
As a result of the accident, the elderly cyclist was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
