A citizen of Ukraine was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for a public accusation by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. He was found guilty of treason, participation in a terrorist organization and activities of armed groups not provided for by law (part 1 of article 111, part 1 of article 258-3, part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Prosecutors proved in court that a resident of Donetsk joined the illegal armed formation “People’s Militia” of the terrorist organization “DNR” from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine as a grenade launcher, in which he later performed the duties of an operator-gunner of an armored infantry vehicle.
During his military service, the man performed the duties of a guard for the protection of the territory and its personnel. Also, the person involved equipped and strengthened Russian firing positions for fighting, dug trenches and built dugouts. In addition, the accused observed the positions and movements of the Armed Forces and reported them to the leadership.
The convict fought in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions.
A special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.
