The perpetrator received money from the victims for processing documents for employment and travel abroad, after which he disappeared.
As the investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, together with the operatives of the Cybercrime Countermeasures Office in the Lviv Region under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, established, a 22-year-old resident of the Ternopil Region, who temporarily lives in Lviv, posted fake messages on social networks about the provision of services in the preparation of documents for employment and travel abroad to the territory of the Czech Republic. However, after receiving funds on card accounts, he stopped communicating with the victims.
During the authorized searches, the law enforcement officers discovered and seized physical evidence from him.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in part 3 of article 190 (Fraud committed on a large scale, or through illegal operations using electronic computing equipment) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all persons who suffered from the actions of the perpetrator.
