In Lviv, three members of an organised group selling drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors were served a notice of suspicion

Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office, three members of an organised group were served a notice of suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer for sale and sale of especially dangerous narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and especially dangerous psychotropic substances, as well as illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer for sale and sale of precursors (Part 3 Article 307, Part 2, 3 Article 311 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in 2024, a local resident organised a criminal deal to sell drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors. These included amphetamine, PVP, cannabis, phenylnitropropene, alpha-bromovalerophenone, acetone, methylpropiophenone, hydrochloric acid, and more. To implement his plan, he recruited two more Lviv residents.

Previously, members of the organised group illegally purchased wholesale quantities of prohibited substances, which they received by post. Subsequently, they packed them in small ziplock bags, concealed them in household goods and sent them by parcels through the post within Ukraine to “clients” whose details were received in the Telegram application.

The proceeds of such activities were credited to the offenders’ bank cards and cryptocurrency wallets of third parties.

At the request of the prosecutor, the suspects were chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of custody with bail set.

The investigation is ongoing. A number of examinations have been ordered. All persons involved are being identified.

As a result of the authorised searches, the SBU found and seized phones, draft recordings, PVP, almost 1.8 kg of the psychotropic substance alpha-bromovalerophenone, precursors phenylnipropropene, nitroethane, pyrrolidine weighing about 32 kg, hydrochloric and sulfuric acids and acetone with a total volume of almost 14 litres.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region, with operational support provided by the DEA of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
