The prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office submitted to the court an indictment against a citizen of Ukraine on the facts of actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or at the seizure of state power, encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, treason, propaganda of war and justification, recognition as legitimate, denial armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 109, Part 2 of Article 110, Part 1 of Article 111, Article 436, Part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that a Lviv resident created a group called “Lviv People’s Republic” on a banned social network. In it, he published calls for violent change and overthrow of the constitutional system and for the seizure of state power.
In particular, he noted that Ukraine should disappear from the political map of the world.
In addition, on the order of the aggressor country, he administered the banned website “VoskhodInfo” associated with the leader of the so-called “DNR”. On it, he posted articles and interviews with pro-Russian propagandists with narratives and calls for an aggressive war.
The accused is currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SBU Office in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
