Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, an indictment was sent to the court against 4 members of the organized group. They are charged with illegal acquisition, transportation, storage and sale of narcotic drugs (parts 2, 3 of article 27, part 2, 3 of article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Two of them were also charged with the use of funds obtained from the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs (part 2 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, one participant was also charged with providing premises for the use of narcotic drugs (parts 1, 2 of article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in one of the districts of Lviv, a local resident organized a scheme for the illegal sale of Subitex tablets, which contain the narcotic buprenophine.
For this, he involved three more of his acquaintances. Roles and responsibilities were clearly divided between the participants. The organizer ordered the “goods”, delivered them and gave instructions on how to sell them. The performers were looking for customers and engaged directly in the sale of drugs among drug addicts by prior agreement at a personal meeting. The prohibited drug could be purchased wholesale and retail.
In addition, one of the participants provided his apartment to drug addicts for drug use.
During searches of the residence of the accused and their vehicles, more than 550 tablets of “Subitex”, cash, bank cards and mobile phones were found and seized.
The value of seized narcotic drugs, at the prices of the “black” market, is about UAH 250,000.
The accused are currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region, operational support was provided by the National Security Service in the Lviv Region of the National Security Service of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
