Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, indictments against two citizens of Ukraine were sent to the court. They are charged with treason, participation in a terrorist organization and activities of armed groups not provided for by law (part 1 of article 111, part 1 of article 258-3, part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in February 2022, residents of the Donetsk region voluntarily switched to the side of the enemy and joined the ranks of the illegal armed formation of the so-called “DNR”. The accused were serving as riflemen.
During the service, men participated in various types of combat and forms of its support. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they fought on the territory of the Kherson region.
A special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
