For 6,500 US dollars, a resident of Lviv region promised to help a man of military age to cross the border without hindrance

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, two men who set up a scheme of illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border for the period of martial law (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) were exposed and reported on suspicion.

According to the investigation, a resident of Kyiv region for $ 5,500 promised an unimpeded border crossing to a conscript in the status of a hired bus driver. And a resident of Lviv region for $ 6,500 promised to help a man of military age to cross the border without hindrance by entering it into a special electronic database that entitles him to leave Ukraine.

Both men were detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. At present, they have been remanded in custody. Other persons involved in illegal activities are also identified.

Detection measures were carried out jointly with the Investigative Department of the State National Security Service in Lviv Oblast with the operational support of the Ukrainian SSR in the Lviv Oblast of the National Police of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
