For two weeks, from October 31 to November 13, employees of departments and response sectors of the patrol police of territorial police units carried out a set of preventive measures to reduce the number of accidents on the roads of Lviv and the region.
During this time, the police discovered 6,011 cases of violations by road users of the requirements of the Road Traffic Rules. All violators were brought to administrative responsibility. In particular, administrative reports were drawn up for 285 drivers for driving while intoxicated, for 3158 drivers for violation of maneuvering rules, failure to comply with the requirements of road signs and violation of pedestrian crossing rules, for 367 drivers for violation of overtaking rules and entering the oncoming traffic lane, for 315 drivers of drivers – for driving at a prohibited traffic light signal and violating the rules of crossing the intersection, for 168 drivers – for violating the rules of traffic through railway crossings.
In addition, 254 drivers were prosecuted for driving vehicles with technical malfunctions, 336 – for driving without relevant documents.
The police also discovered 456 pedestrians who violated the Traffic Rules – they were also issued administrative reports.
The law enforcement officers held preventive and clarifying conversations with all violators.
The police of the Lviv region constantly implement measures to control traffic safety and comply with the Traffic Rules to prevent the death and injury of people on the roads of the city and region. In general, the main causes of road accidents in Lviv Oblast are violations of maneuvering rules, speeding, and failure to keep a safe distance. And among traffic accidents with fatalities, car collisions and collisions with pedestrians predominate.
The law enforcement officers once again appeal to all road users: be attentive and careful, follow the Traffic Rules, protect your life and health.
