A man from Novy Rozdol faces up to ten years in prison for robbery during the war

Detainee detained in operatives in Novy Rozdol for robbery in wartime faces up to ten years in prison

The police of Lviv region remind once again that in conditions of martial law for theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, misappropriation of property or taking it by abuse of office, maximum penalties are provided.

On April 4, at about 1:50 p.m., police received a report from the manager of a store in Novy Rozdil that an unknown person had stolen goods from the facility.

An investigative task force and other employees of the №2 police department of the Stryj District Police Department worked on the spot. According to police, an unknown man misappropriated the goods and fled.

After examining video surveillance footage and conducting other operational and investigative activities, operatives of the criminal police of the territorial police unit established the identity of the perpetrator, a previously convicted 37-year-old local resident, and his whereabouts.

He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a measure of restraint for the perpetrator.

In fact, investigators of the territorial police department opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
