So, on January 13, around 5:20 p.m., on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” in the village of Rozvadiv of the Stryi district, the driver of a “Skoda”, a 41-year-old man from Kyiv, hit a 69-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district. As a result of the accident, the elderly man was injured and hospitalized.

Another traffic accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. on Adam Mickiewicz Square in Lviv. As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Citroen Xantia car, a 19-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a 64-year-old pedestrian. As a result of the accident, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.

Based on these facts, the investigators of the territorial units of the police of the Lviv region opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
