Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the incidents and are establishing the circumstances.
On 4 March, at 19.20, on the Lviv-Sambir-Uzhhorod highway in the village of Velykyi Lubin, the driver of a Scania truck with a semi-trailer, a 38-year-old resident of Volyn Oblast, hit a local woman aged 61 who was crossing the roadway outside the pedestrian crossing. The woman was hospitalised with injuries.
On the same day, at 13.30, on Stryiska Street in Drohobych, the driver of a Volkswagen Golf, a 40-year-old local resident, was reversing and hit a 63-year-old woman, also a local resident. The victim sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.
On 4 March, at around 20.00, on the Lviv-Sambir-Uzhhorod highway in Rudky, Sambir district, a 56-year-old Lviv resident, drove a Toyota and hit a pedestrian, a 53-year-old resident of a village in the district. The man was injured and taken to hospital as a result of the collision.
Investigators of the territorial police departments opened criminal proceedings over these facts under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the incidents.
