Over the past day, two road accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles occurred in Lviv

The police of the Lviv Region urges you to be careful, strictly follow the requirements of the Traffic Rules, do not exceed the speed limit and follow the road conditions. Take care of life and health – your own and those around you.

So, on September 7, around 7:15 a.m., the driver of a “Volkswagen Golf” car, a 25-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Stryi district, hit a cyclist, a 46-year-old local resident, on Naukovya Street in Lviv. As a result of the accident, the man received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in intensive care.

According to the fact, investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.

Another traffic accident happened around 6:45 p.m. on Trilovsky Street. As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda car, a 33-year-old man from Lviv, collided with a scooter driven by a 15-year-old local resident. As a result of the accident, the passenger of the scooter, a 14-year-old man from Lviv, was injured and taken to the hospital.

According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the events.
