Over the past 24 hours, there have been three traffic accidents in Lviv and the region, all of them hitting pedestrians

As a result of the accident, three people were injured. Police officers call on all road users, especially at night and in difficult road conditions, to carefully follow the requirements of the Road Traffic Rules, to be attentive and careful.

On January 15, around 9:00 a.m., on the Mostyska-Sambir highway, in the city of Mostyska, the driver of a VAZ-2106 car, a 23-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv district, lost control – the vehicle left the pavement and hit a pedestrian, a local resident aged 64 years old. As a result of the collision, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.

On the same day at 6:50 p.m. at the intersection of Kulparkivska-Perfetskoho streets in Lviv, the driver of a Skoda Fabia, a 21-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, hit a 45-year-old man from Lviv who was crossing the roadway within the pedestrian crossing. As a result of the collision, the man was injured and taken to the hospital.

And another road accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on Naukovya Street in Lviv. There, a 29-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv district, driving a Volkswagen Caddy, hit a 29-year-old woman from Lviv who was crossing the roadway within the pedestrian crossing. As a result of the collision, the woman received injuries and was taken to the hospital.

In all cases, investigators of territorial units of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.

Investigations are being conducted, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the events.
