Drivers, control your speed. Speeding is one of the main causes of road accidents
We continue to record speeding violations using the TruCAM laser speed meter in dangerous areas and places of concentration of road accidents with serious consequences.
In the first 7 months of this year, Lviv police officers have drawn up 39860 administrative reports for speeding.
We would like to remind you that in settlements, vehicles are allowed to drive at a speed of no more than 50 km/h, and in residential and pedestrian zones – up to 20 km/h.
The liability under Art. 122 (Exceeding the established speed limits) of the Code of Administrative Offenses is:
🔻for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h – a fine of UAH 340;
🔻 by more than 50 km/h – entails a fine of UAH 1700.
Due to exceeding the established and non-compliance with the safe speed limit in the region, 664 people were injured and, unfortunately, 53 died during the mentioned period.
