In the previous day, two pedestrians were killed in Lviv Oblast

The police of the Lviv region once again urges pedestrians to strictly follow the traffic rules, to be attentive and careful, to cross the road only at crosswalks and on a green light, and to use reflective elements in the dark.

Take care of life and health! So, on October 13, around 7:50 p.m., on the Lviv-Drogobych highway near the village of Grimne, Stryi district, the driver of an Opel Astra, a 33-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, hit a 26-year-old man from Lviv.

The man died from his injuries at the scene. Another traffic accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on the Mukachevo-Ivano-Frankivsk-Rohatyn-Lviv highway in the village of Davydiv, Lviv district. As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Transporter, a 52-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, hit a man in his 40s.

The pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene, his identity is being established. Based on these facts, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.

Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the events.
