A Lviv resident is in the dock for beating his mother to death

Prosecutors of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv have sent to court an indictment against a 51-year-old man on the fact of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm that caused the victim’s death (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation has established that in April this year in Lviv, a local resident beat his bedridden 83-year-old mother to death.

On that day, during another conflict, the accused struck the victim multiple times with his hands and feet, causing her serious bodily injuries.

After the attack, the man went to the store to buy food. Upon his return, the defendant called an ambulance. However, the paramedics arrived and only pronounced the woman dead.

The accused is in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the LRUP No. 2 of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.

Note: In accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
