He beat a fellow villager to death – a resident of Zolochiv region was taken into custody

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Zolochiv district prosecutor’s office, a 38-year-old local resident was notified of suspicion of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, which caused the death of the victim (part 2 of article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in one of the villages of the Zolochiv district on the first day of the Easter holidays, the suspect came to visit his acquaintance, a 61-year-old fellow villager.

They went to the kitchen together, where they started drinking alcoholic beverages. During the feast, a conflict arose between a man and a woman.

During the argument, the suspect began to punch the victim, causing her to fall to the floor. Despite this, the suspect continued to beat the victim. After the beating, the man went to his home.

The next day, her daughter came to visit the victim. She found her mother beaten on the kitchen floor and called an ambulance.

The woman was taken to the intensive care unit, where she died a few days later.

The court satisfied the request of the prosecutors and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Zolochiv district police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
