Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the director and deputy director of one of the state enterprises of the Stryi region were reported on suspicion of extortion and illegal gain (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
According to the investigation, the suspects demanded and received UAH 60,000 from a resident of Lviv Region for assistance in renting premises on the company’s balance sheet.
Militiamen detained the defendants in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine during the receipt of the agreed amount of illegal benefit.
Investigative actions continue. The court chose a precautionary measure in the form of bail, and his deputy – detention in custody with the possibility of bail.
Measures to expose were carried out by the prosecutor’s office together with investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region, according to the USBU in Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in law and established by a court conviction.
