With the participation of the prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the court satisfied the claim of the head of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office to collect damages from the economic entity for the pollution of water bodies in the amount of more than UAH 220,000.
Prosecutors proved in court that one of the enterprises of the Lviv Oblast violated the requirements of environmental protection legislation while conducting economic activity in one of the villages of the Yavoriv district.
In particular, the facts of river pollution by excessive discharges of polluting substances into local rivers, which caused damage to the surrounding natural environment, were established.
In addition, the court also satisfied the claim of the head of the Chervonograd district prosecutor’s office for compensation for the damage caused by illegal logging. It was decided to collect over UAH 120,000 from the permanent forest user to the local budget.
It has been proven that illegal felling of oak trees was carried out on the territory of the Radekhiv Forestry.
In particular, the forest user allowed and did not control arbitrary illegal felling of trees without appropriate approvals in accordance with current legislation. Actions committed by the defendant are recognized as illegal.
Accordingly, this became the basis for filing lawsuits.
The court fully agreed with the arguments of the prosecutors and completely satisfied the claims.
