On the instructions of the head of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, the prosecutor of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office (on the authority of the department) of the regional prosecutor’s office reported suspicions to the director of the company due to the fact of appropriation of budget funds in particularly large amounts (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, one of the communal enterprises of the region entered into an agreement with the company headed by the suspect to carry out bank strengthening works of the Dniester River.
The employee entered false data into the acts of the performed works, specifying significantly more expensive materials than those that were actually used.
As a result, he illegally took over budget funds of the Environmental Protection Fund in the amount of over UAH 1.3 million.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the State Department of the National Police in the Lviv region, under the operational support of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Lviv region of the SSR of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
