On Tuesday, August 15, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Vitaly Tonkoshkur, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

He studied at the Ivan Albert Dubanevytskyi Institution of General Secondary Education of the I-II degrees and at the Educational and Educational Complex “Engineering and Economic School – Lviv Economic Lyceum”.
Later, the family moved to the capital, where Vitaly Tonkoshkur entered Les Kurbas School I-III degrees #206. He received his education at the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Ivan Kozhedub.
In 2016, he performed combat missions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in the ranks of the 11th separate army aviation brigade “Kherson” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After returning to civilian life, he was engaged in the repair and maintenance of cars. He was an extremely energetic person, he liked to devote his free time to fishing.
With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the invaders. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Vitaly Tonkoshkur is survived by his mother, 7-year-old son, girlfriend, grandfather, grandmother, two aunts and a cousin.
