Sale of buprenorphine in Stryi: group of people served a notice of suspicion

 

Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, a group of four men was served a notice of suspicion. They are charged with illegal acquisition, storage, transportation with intent to sell, as well as sale of a narcotic drug committed repeatedly by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in Stryi, the suspects organized the sale of Subitex tablets containing the narcotic substance buprenorphine. In particular, six such facts have been documented.

To do this, they first illegally purchased drugs. The “goods” were sold by prior arrangement with the “clients”, directly “from hand to hand” in different locations.

The cost of one pill ranged from UAH 750 to UAH 2,000.

During the searches of the men’s residences, the police found and seized 180 drug-containing pills, cannabis plants, bank cards, mobile phones, cash and draft records.

Motions have been filed with the court to choose a measure of restraint.

The investigation is ongoing. All persons involved are being identified.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Stryi Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
