Chernihiv resident to be tried for keeping psychotropic drugs worth almost UAH 5 million
Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Halych District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, a 47-year-old and a 38-year-old Lviv residents were served a notice of suspicion of purchasing, storing and selling firearms, ammunition and explosives without a permit (Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in Lviv, the suspects illegally purchased, stored in their own homes and then sold ammunition, firearms and explosive charges.
It is documented that one of the suspects sold 137 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, a case of a defensive fragmentation hand grenade RGO, a case of an offensive fragmentation hand grenade GHO-1 to a local resident for UAH 48 thousand. Also, an “AF-11” fuse, a “UZRGM” remote fuse, a Mosin rifle butt and a Mosin rifle.
The other received two magazines for an AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifle and 163 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, for which he received almost UAH 19 thousand.
After that, the “buyer” went and voluntarily handed over the weapons to the police. He also said who had sold it to him.
A custody with the right to be released on bail was chosen as a measure of restraint for both suspects.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Investigation Department No. 1 of the Lviv Region National Police.
Note: In accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
