Woman in Lviv Region to Stand Trial for Husband’s Murder
A woman in the Lviv region will be tried for allegedly murdering her husband. The victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained. For the crime committed, she faces a penalty of up to fifteen years in prison.
Circumstances of the Crime
As identified by operatives and investigators from Police Station No. 1 of the Sheptytskyi District Police Department, the incident occurred on November 22 in one of the villages of the Sheptytskyi district. That evening, during a drinking session, a conflict arose between the couple, during which the 45-year-old suspect stabbed the 47-year-old victim in the chest with a kitchen knife. The man died at the scene from the injuries received.
Investigation and Trial
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings, initiated under the procedural guidance of the Sheptytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office under part 1 of article 115 (Intentional Murder Committed with Exceptional Cruelty) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is complete. The indictment has been sent to court for review. The article’s sanction prescribes a penalty of ten to fifteen years in prison or life imprisonment.
