Offender from Novoyavorivsk to Face Court for Gas Station Attack
In the Lviv region, an offender accused of a daring attack on a gas station will be tried. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The perpetrator faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment for the crime.
Details of the Attack
As previously reported, on January 9, a notification was received by the police that an unknown person in black clothing and a balaclava entered a gas station in a village in Lviv district. Threatening the cashier with a gun, he took the proceeds and disappeared in an unknown direction.
Through conducted measures and having studied video surveillance records from ‘Safe Lviv Region’, law enforcement established the identity of the wanted person and detained him. He turned out to be a 25-year-old resident of Novoyavorivsk, who had previously been convicted for robbery attacks.
Investigation and Court
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings opened under Part 4 of Article 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment has been sent for court review. The maximum punishment provided by the article’s sanction is imprisonment for up to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
