Ulyana Kinash, the wife of a serviceman, has been working as a speech therapist and early childhood educator for 13 years. This year, the woman gathered a team of specialists and opened her own Center for Child Development and Family Support “Kliuchi”.
With the support of the Lviv City Council, she received funds for training and renting the premises.
The Klyuchi Child Development and Family Support Center combines several areas of work. There are correctional sessions with children by a psychologist and a speech therapist, as well as group classes for children with special educational needs. A separate area is information and emotional support for parents.
“We hold consultations and seminars for parents on various issues of child development and behavior. In addition, we organize coaching meetings where parents can reflect not only on their children, but also on life in general and the issues that concern them,” says Ulyana Kinash.
Ulyana’s husband served in the army back in 2015, and since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he has gone back to defend the country and is currently serving in the 80th Air Assault Brigade.
The Klyuchi Child Development and Family Support Center provides the first free consultation or classes for military families. This is how they support the families of the defenders.
To develop her business, Ulyana applied for a competition for voucher support for veterans and their families and received 180 thousand hryvnias. She will spend part of the money on training to improve her coaching skills, and the rest on renting a room and buying furniture.
“This is really great support, because you need money to develop, and when you start a business, you need a lot of it. The city helps a lot in this regard, giving you the belief that you have some kind of support. Even if you spend all your earnings and all your savings, you realize that this is an investment in the development of your business,” says Ulyana.
Last year, 30 veterans and their wives received up to UAH 300 thousand in voucher support to start or develop their own businesses. This year, 53 veterans and their families received certificates for business development. In total, Lviv City Council offers 13 different vouchers to help entrepreneurs.
In 2023, 492 vouchers worth UAH 46.4 million were allocated from the city budget to support businesses.
