Evacuation of children and a destroyed bridge: consequences of downpours in Lviv region

Information as of 10:52 p.m. June 10. As a reminder, today due to the rise in the water level in the Skhidnychanka River, households in the village of Skhidnytsia Drohobytsky district.

The head of the Lviv OVA reported that the water level is currently not decreasing and spoke about the new consequences of flooding.

Children participating in tourism competitions were evacuated from Mount Tustan. They were temporarily placed in one of the local people’s homes.

More than 60 households were flooded in Skhidnytskyi community, residents are temporarily resettled within the community.

2 bridges in Skhidnytsia were damaged. There was subsidence of the road due to washing along Shevchenko Street. There is a risk of collapse. A medium-pressure gas pipe was demolished.

Along the entire length of the Skhidnychanka river, the banks are washed out.

The water level is currently not decreasing,” Maksym Kozytskyi said.

He also noted that road workers are working on the site, removing fallen trees and applied soil from the roadway. More than 90 specialists of the State Emergency Service are also involved.
