The Nestle Needs YOUth initiative is 10 years old: a conference has started in Lviv region

The initiative promotes youth employment.

Today, October 24, a conference on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Nestlé Needs YOUth initiative began in Lviv with the participation of the head of Nestlé North America, Laurent Freks, and other managers of the company at various levels in the Lviv region. It was in Lviv in 2013 that the initiative was launched, which was later extended to all regions of Ukraine and other countries of the world where the company worked.

Nestlé Needs YOUth aims to promote youth employment, offering internships for students and first jobs for young professionals. In 10 years, it has been expanded to new areas, in addition to internships and employment, today special attention is paid to sustainable development, digital skills and agribusiness as the most promising areas for creating jobs in the future.

“The world should know about Ukraine not only as a country fighting for its future, but also as a country where there are many talented young people who create our present and will create the future of Ukraine and the future of the world. I sincerely thank Nestlé for the Nestlé Needs YOUth initiative – for training, internships and employment of young people. Special thanks for the humanitarian aid for our people, as well as for the support of the Superhumans rehabilitation center for war victims, which works in our region. I believe that young people will return to Ukraine and will see their future here,” said the head of the region Maksym Kozytskyi.

The following topics will be discussed during the conference:

“Work of the future” is the evolution we are witnessing now.
What are the skills of the future – digital skills, artificial intelligence, green skills and sustainable agriculture.
What tools/resources/initiatives does business and government have to support youth and future skills.
Creating opportunities for youth to return to Ukraine.
Facilitating the return of young talents: cooperation between business and government to create favorable conditions in Ukraine;
Responsibility of companies/private sector in attracting youth and returning youth to Ukraine.
Activities of the Government and local authorities regarding the creation of favorable conditions and restoration of Ukraine.

As of today, for the needs of Superhumans, Nestlé has already provided 3 million hryvnias of aid, which will be directed, in particular, to the opening of a sterilization room at the Superhumans Center. It will work both for the needs of the Center and for the needs of the military hospital. This will make it possible to serve about 20,000 patients a year.

In addition, during 2023, the company continues to help Ukrainians and will provide food products worth 7 million Swiss francs.
