The third year of the full-scale invasion by Russia has been financially challenging for Lviv. As reported by Viktoriya Dovzhyk, the head of the financial policy department of the Lviv City Council, during the report on the execution of the Lviv MTG budget in 2024, over 1 billion UAH from the community budget was allocated last year to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Additionally, key sectors such as education, culture, social protection, healthcare, and housing and communal services were adequately funded.
Despite the challenges, the revenue part of the general fund of the Lviv MTG budget in 2024 was executed at 101%, amounting to 15,001.7 million UAH. The main sources of income were personal income tax, the unified tax, and excise duty. Expenditures included:
- 1.1 billion UAH to support the Armed Forces;
- 6,820.5 million UAH on education and culture;
- 2,986.3 million UAH on housing and communal services;
- 1,603 million UAH on social protection and healthcare;
- 234.7 million UAH for the reserve fund and defense.
Total expenditures amounted to 12,985.5 million UAH with an execution rate of 97.6%. The presentation also discussed the results of Lviv’s development budget with the participation of Inna Svystun.
