Almost 130 recreational facilities have been set up on the basis of the enterprises of the regional forestry department

Every year on June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated. This date was initiated by the UN General Assembly in December 1972 and is celebrated annually in more than 100 countries.

World Environment Day is designed to draw the world’s attention to environmental issues, to make it clear that the main driving force of environmental measures is the human factor.

To date, the forests of the state forest fund of Lviv region have provided effective forest management, as well as established the structure of management and protection of forest ecosystems.

118 territories and objects of the nature reserve fund with a total area of ​​over 100 thousand hectares have been allocated in the forests of the enterprises of the Lviv Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting. The share of the reserve fund reached 21% of the total forest area of ​​Lviv OULMG, including 40% in the mountainous part.

On World Environment Day, many countries around the world hold environmental events and actions. 127 recreational facilities, 46 school forestries, 5 ecological and educational centers and the Forest Museum have been built on the basis of the enterprises of the regional administration.

During the environmental protection actions on landscaping and landscaping, which are held mainly in the spring and autumn, foresters are joined by pupils and students, government officials and the public.

This spring, as part of the President’s Green Country environmental initiative, 5.7 million trees were planted in the state forest fund. In particular, the Victory Forest initiative, which took place in Lviv Region on the Day of the Environment, was joined by almost 700 participants, including families of internally displaced persons with children, volunteers, the public and others.
