This is stated in the Memorandum, which Lviv OVA signed with the law enforcement agencies of the region.
Today, April 3, the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region, the Territorial Administration of the BEB in the Lviv Region, the Main Directorate of the DPS of the Lviv Region and the Lviv Customs signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document provides for the implementation of measures related to the detection and elimination of fraud related to the payment of taxes, VAT, violation of the rules for declaring goods that are moved across the customs border, embezzlement of funds from international donors, etc.
To strengthen work in these directions, a Center for the Analysis of Economic Security Risks will be created in Lviv Oblast. The working group of the Center will include representatives of the Lviv Regional Government and all law enforcement agencies of the region.
“It is important that the further work of the Center for Analysis of Economic Security Risks be systematic. The issues remain standard — transparency in the payment of taxes, VAT, customs control, excise, etc. The advantage of the interdepartmental working group format is efficiency. The working group will be able to quickly make management decisions, including within criminal proceedings. For us, this is an opportunity to show that we are moving towards Europe. I am waiting for high-quality cooperation and the first active actions,” said the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
According to Vitaliy Dragunov, the head of the Territorial Administration of the BEB in the Lviv region, the main tasks of the Center are the formation of an information base, the involvement of specialists and scientists in the activities of the institution, and in the future – the creation of a group of international officers.
“I believe that we will have fruitful cooperation. The main priority is the fight against smuggling, evasion of customs payments, taxes, copyright infringement, etc. Taking this into account, we are forming a vector of work – this is an operational exchange of information, the creation of common databases in which members of the interdepartmental group can work, and the involvement of specialists to work as part of the group. Another priority is international partners. With joint efforts, we will establish this communication, because the Lviv region is a key region of cross-border cooperation,” Vitaliy Dragunov emphasized.
