Territorial communities were represented at the competitions by young people aged 16 and younger.
Over the weekend, the selection stages of the Youth Games of the Lviv region were held in two divisions: east and west. 12 teams of territorial communities competed in the “West” zone, and 13 teams competed in the “East” zone. Such games are being held in Lviv Oblast for the third time. They are organized by the Lviv Regional Public Organization “Kolos” and the Department of Youth and Sports of Lviv Oblast.
“This year, the selection stage gathered a record number of participants – about 1,000 young people from 25 communities. This shows that the popularity of these competitions is growing from year to year. These games are an effective tool for popularizing a healthy lifestyle and are one of the most effective ways to prevent and combat negative consequences in the youth environment,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the youth and sports department of the Lviv OVA.
Territorial communities were represented at the competitions by young people aged 16 and younger. Winners were determined in 8 sports: mini-football, chess, table tennis, checkers, arm sports, tug-of-war and kettlebell sports.
Already on Saturday, October 28, the final of the Youth Games of the Lviv Oblast will be held in Pustomyty. Prize-winners and winners of zonal competitions from Turkivska, Biskovytska, Strilkivska, Dobromylska, Pustomytivska, Mykolayivska, Yavorivska, and Dobrotvir communities will meet in the final.
