52% increase: in the regional budget of 2023, the highest expenses are for the needs of the social protection sector

More than UAH 100 million have been earmarked for the development of the industry in the regional budget.

Social protection expenditures in the 2023 regional budget are the highest, with an increase of 52%. Ivan Sobko, the profile deputy head of the Lviv OVA, announced this during an online meeting with the heads of regional social welfare institutions.

He emphasized that the field of social protection of the region has achieved such an increase for the first time, and we are talking about expenses for both maintenance and the capital component.

In addition, this year it was possible to raise the level of salaries of employees in the industry.

“The average salary in social security institutions in 2022 was at the level of UAH 6,300, now it is at the level of UAH 9,700 (amounts with deduction of taxes). The regional administration, for its part, did everything possible during the war to ensure that workers received higher wages for the amount of work they performed.

There is a problem with the tariff grid – we also understand that. In this direction, we cooperate with the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance,” said Ivan Sobko.

“We strive to ensure that throughout this year and partly the next we have already clearly said that in our institutions there are no problems with such types of work as energy saving, networks, roofs, shelters, fire prevention measures, which should be an integral part of a modern institution of social protection at the regional level.

The regional administration will continue to financially support the sphere of social protection. However, at the same time, we call on the heads of institutions to develop cooperation with donors, which is an important component in the development and support of social protection institutions,” Ivan Sobko emphasized.

It should be noted that today, March 17, an on-site organizational meeting regarding the provision of inpatient care services was held with the heads of regional geriatric and psycho-neurological institutions (of which 2 are for children) with the participation of the profile deputy head of Lviv OVA Ivan Sobka (online) and the management of the department of social protection of the LOVA population .

The on-site meeting was organized to share experience on the application of best current practices.
