The labor market in the Lviv region: for 3.4 thousand unemployed people – more than 11 thousand vacancies

In January-October of this year, almost 21,400 unemployed people used the intermediary services of the Lviv Regional Employment Service for employment, which is 17,200 less than in the same period last year.

Under the guidance of the employment service, during this period, almost 12,000 clients, including 8,100 unemployed, found work on a permanent basis. Another 1.3 thousand people were engaged in temporary employment, of which 0.5 thousand performed temporary or public work, and 0.8 thousand – socially useful.

In order to increase the level of competitiveness, 2,100 unemployed people underwent professional training or retraining, and 1,200 people from among the employed population received a voucher for training.

During 10 months of this year, 6.1 thousand business entities submitted information to the employment service about the availability of 26.0 thousand free jobs and vacant positions.

As of November 1, 2023, there were 11,200 vacancies in the region, with an average salary of UAH 12,400, while at this time last year, employers offered an average of UAH 9,500 for a job.

At the beginning of November last year, 3.4 thousand unemployed people were looking for work with the help of the employment service (last year there were 7.7 thousand). Most of them (77%) are women, almost 30% are young people under the age of 35, and 40% are rural residents.
