At the beginning of June of this year, 3,738 people with the status of unemployed were looking for work with the assistance of regional employment service specialists. Most of them were women (71.9%), 28.3% were young people under the age of 35, and 40.6% were residents of rural settlements.
Among the registered unemployed, 54% had higher education. Another 33% – professional and technical, 13% – general secondary.
In the first days of summer, the employment service operated with information on the availability of 6,226 vacancies in the region, that is, on average, one unemployed person applied for one job vacancy.
The average salary in current vacancies declared by employers was 11,000 hryvnias. The highest remuneration was recorded in such areas of the economy as water supply, sewage, waste management (UAH 14.4 thousand), agriculture, forestry and fishing (13.3), construction (13.1), supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (12.9), professional, scientific and technical activities (12.4 thousand hryvnias).
The Lviv branch of the regional employment center is the leader in terms of the number of vacant jobs and vacant positions in the region, where more than 4,000 employment options are available to clients. There are significantly fewer vacancies in the Chervonohrad (688), Drohobytska (447), Stryiska (364), Zolochivska (331), Yavorivska (267) and Sambirska (124 vacancies) branches of the LOCZ.
