Driving licence tests to resume at Service Centre No. 4642 in Drohobych

In Drohobych, plans are under way to reintroduce theoretical and practical driving licence tests at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Territorial Service Centre No. 4642 on 64 Truskavetska Street. This decision was taken at a regular session of Drohobych City Council, which approved a programme to improve the centre’s material and technical resources.

The opportunity to sit tests in the city had been suspended for almost three years, forcing residents of Drohobych and neighbouring communities to travel to Stryi or Sambir, spending extra time and money. The City Council stresses that restoring the operation of the examination site is important not only for the convenience of citizens, but also for supporting local driving schools and increasing budget revenues from administrative fees.

To significantly upgrade the material resources of Service Centre No. 4642, the purchase of three specialised training vehicles with a total value of 3.6 million hryvnias is planned. This was the key condition set by the Main Service Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for resuming examination activities in Drohobych.

The City Council emphasises that the return of this service is particularly relevant under martial law, when in many families men are fighting at the front or working at strategic facilities, and women need driving licences to run small family businesses, take children to nurseries, schools and medical institutions, and care for elderly relatives.

With support from the local budget, this important state service will once again be available in the city, which, in the view of the municipal authorities, confirms Drohobych’s role as a strong administrative centre where the interests and comfort of residents are the priority.
