In Lviv, parking inspectors issued fines for over 2.5 million hryvnias last week

Over the past week, parking inspectors have fined 6,802 drivers for violating the rules of stopping/parking cars, for a total of UAH 2,502,400. Funds from the payment of fines go to the city budget of Lviv. This was reported in the security department of the Lviv City Council.

We remind you that the minimum fine is UAH 340. But, depending on the specifics of the offense, it can increase to UAH 680. If the offending driver does not pay the fine within 10 days, the amount is doubled.

“Drivers are also fined for non-payment of paid parking services. In this case, a fine is imposed in the amount of 20 times the cost of an hour of parking,” the LMR security department added.

Also, due to violation of parking rules, 77 cars were evacuated to the detention area last week. To return the car, the owner must pay UAH 2,234 for tow truck services, another UAH 140 for one day of car storage at the site.

“50 parking inspectors are involved in the inspection on the streets of the city. Each of them issues an average of 35 reports on bringing drivers to administrative responsibility every day. As of December 20, the city budget received more than UAH 45 million from the payment of fines,” the LMR security department added.

The Lviv City Council once again urges drivers not to park their cars in violation of traffic rules, in particular, under the signs “stopping is prohibited”, “parking is prohibited”, at intersections. Chaotic parking complicates road traffic, as well as, in the conditions of martial law, the passage of special vehicles, which ensure the life of the city and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
