According to Andriy Zalivskyi, chairman of the Sheptytske City Council, negotiations with Alterenergo Zakhid LLC, which proposes to build a thermal power plant with an electric capacity of 2.2 MW and a thermal capacity of 18 MW, have been ongoing for a year.
A location has been preliminarily selected next to the boiler house of RGC-1 on the territory of the former fuel oil farm.
According to the chairman of the city council, the company is ready to buy the property of the district heating company, which is in a tax lien.
The TPP will be fuelled by biomass – wood chips made from wood waste.
Alterenergo Zakhid has already built and operates a number of boiler houses in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Lviv regions.
In particular, in 2022, a 5.0 MW biomass boiler house was launched in Drohobych, which provides heat to 25 residential multi-storey buildings and 9 public sector buildings. If the city council approves such an investment project, ALTERENERGO ZAKHID LLC is ready to sign a contract and pay an advance for the purchase of boilers.
The amount of investment funds for the implementation of such a project is about UAH 600,000,000.
