According to Andriy Zalivsky, chairman of the Sheptytsky City Council, negotiations with Alterenergo West LLC, which proposes to build a thermal power plant with an electric capacity of 2.2 MW and a thermal capacity of 18 MW, have been ongoing for a year.

According to the chairman of the city council, the company is ready to buy the property of the district heating company, which is in a tax lien.
The TPP will be fuelled by biomass – wood chips made from wood waste.
Alterenergo Zakhid has already built and operates a number of boiler houses in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Lviv regions.
In particular, in 2022, a 5.0 MW biomass boiler house was launched in Drohobych, which provides heat to 25 residential multi-storey buildings and 9 public sector buildings. If the city council approves such an investment project, ALTERENERGO ZAKHID LLC is ready to sign a contract and pay an advance for the purchase of boilers.
The amount of investment funds for the implementation of such a project is about UAH 600,000,000.
