Bus drivers in Lviv Oblast who have the most non-cash fares will receive bonuses

In all suburban and intercity buses on the routes of the region until February 29, 2024, there is a 20% discount on contactless payment of fares with a Visa card.

In all suburban and intercity bus routes of the region from December 28, 2023 to February 29, 2024, you can get a 20% discount on contactless payment of fares with a Visa card. As part of the campaign, bus drivers will also benefit from the discount. For those drivers who will have the largest number of non-cash payments, monetary rewards have been provided.

“Ten drivers with the largest number of card transactions will receive bonuses: the first three – UAH 10,000 each, the next seven – UAH 5,000 each. We will determine them after the discount expires. In this way, we encourage drivers to promote and inform passengers about the 20% discount when paying with Visa cards and about the advantages of contactless payment,” explained Oleg Dolinskyi, a representative of Smart Ticket Technology.

As a reminder, in order to take advantage of the discount, the passenger just needs to pay the fare with a Visa bank card (physical or digital, which is saved in the ApplePay/GooglePay wallet on the phone with NFC support) through the validator, and the system will automatically take into account the 20% discount. It is important not to forget to record the place of disembarkation – re-apply the card to the validator when exiting (there is a different tariff grid in the region, so the system deducts money for the distance). “The e-ticket will help to make the circulation of money in the public transport of Lviv Oblast more transparent. In addition, there will be a clear accounting of beneficiaries, and it will be possible to buy travel tickets through a mobile application. Paying by card is only the first step. There is still a lot of work to do!” – noted the deputy head of the Lviv OVA Yuriy Buchko.

It is important to remember that one bank card (or other device with the NFC function) can be used to pay the fare for only one passenger. Each vehicle has leaflets with step-by-step instructions on how to use the contactless payment service. If passengers have questions or comments about the operation of the system, they can call the “Smart Ticket Technology” hotline at the number: 0 800 300 844.

The introduction of e-tickets in Lviv Oblast is implemented within the framework of cooperation of the Lviv OVA with an investor in the implementation of the ASOOP “Smart Ticket Technology” and with the support of the international payment technology company Visa.
