Coordinators have already started work in some communities.
This summer, coordinators of the national Active Parks program are to work in 48 communities of Lviv Oblast. Their task is to provide systematic sports activities for the residents of the community in the form of open trainings, flash mobs, competitions or any other creative forms of healthy physical activity. In some communities, coordinators have already started work, while some are delaying the submission of the necessary documents. This was announced by the head of the youth and sports department of the Lviv OVA, Roman Khimyak, following the results of a meeting with community leaders chaired by the head of the OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi.
“The work of the coordinator will not require additional costs from the community – funds for the involvement of such a specialist, in particular the payment of the work, are provided for directly by the program. Even more, for our part, we provided all regional coordinators with sports equipment, inventory and uniforms,” said the head of the youth and sports department.
According to Roman Khimyak, for more than a month, specialists of the Lviv Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All” have been communicating with those responsible for the development of sports in communities, profile deputies and heads of communities, explaining all the possibilities, advantages and organizational nuances of the Program . So far, only 27 communities have fulfilled the necessary conditions for starting cooperation.
“Are others among those who chose to be pilots not interested in creating additional conditions for the development of sports in the community? We hope that despite the busy schedule and many tasks, our colleagues from local self-government bodies will find time and inspiration to improve the quality of life of the residents of their community. After all, this is the main task of public servants – to create conditions for the multifaceted development of the community’s residents,” said the head of sports of the Lviv Oblast.
