From today, you can exchange light bulbs only in Lviv. Later, the program will spread to cities and villages of the Lviv region.
In Ukraine, the program of exchanging old incandescent lamps for energy-saving LED lamps has begun. Residents of Lviv can bring and exchange light bulbs at any Ukrposhta branch, of which there are 60 in the city.
“Starting today, you can bring 5 working incandescent lamps to all branches of Ukrposhta in Lviv and exchange them for 5 LED lamps. All residents of Lviv Oblast will be able to use the program, as lamp exchange will soon be available in the entire territory of Lviv Oblast,” said the head of the Lviv Oblast, Maksym Kozytskyi.
The initiative belongs to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The goal is to reduce the deficit of electricity in the energy system. Switching to LED lamps will reduce energy consumption by 7-10% at peak times.
The program will work according to the following algorithm: a person brings 5 working incandescent lamps to the branch of “Ukrposhta”, where they exchange them for energy-saving ones. The exchange will take place in two ways.
The first is through registration in “Dia”. Registration for the beta test of the “Exchange of light bulbs” service has started on the portal. In the application, you must fill in information about yourself. The registration form is currently closed because the maximum number of participants has been reached, but a new form will be launched soon. Pre-registration in “Diya” guarantees that you will be able to exchange your old light bulbs, because a reserve is prepared for your application.
The second is to come to the Ukrposhta branch in person. You should have your passport, identification code and 5 light bulbs with you. Bulbs can be changed only once. At the same time, you can do it for yourself and for any family member. For this, you must have a package of the above-mentioned documents with you for each person.
Incandescent lamps must be in working order, after exchange they are disposed of.
